You're One of a Kind

In my last post, I challenged you to change out the paper and ink and create a flowery card for someone special. This is the new version I created in summery colors, using paper from Birthday Basics that has a butterfly-like pattern to it. I love the gumball green and crisp cantaloupe together!

Both cards used a half doily as the background for the sentiment, but they are two different sizes with different lace patterns. Which one is your favorite?

Glad for flowers and companions

Anytime you're feeling low, take a walk in a flower garden and it's sure to brighten your day! There are so many colors and varieties, with fragrances to delight your senses. If you're lucky, you'll spot a butterfly fluttering here and there from blossom to blossom!

Now go to your crafting space, and create a flowery card for someone you care about. For this card, I used a retired set called Bloomin' Marvelous because the images fit so well with the Tea for Two designer series paper and the oval framelits, and I love the sentiment. You could easily recreate it by changing out the colors and/or papers. Let's see what you come up with! Leave me a comment and let me know what you've been working on. I'd love to hear about it!

Retired, Retiring Soon, and Still Here!

It's that time of year when Stampin' Up! demonstrators are moving out the old to make room for the new catalog and all its glorious new products!

I always feel like I haven't had quite enough time to play with some of my "old" stamps, paper and accessories, so today's card is a mash-up of old, not-so-old, and current items. Feel free to substitute what you have in YOUR stash and join me in making a cheerful birthday card.

The watercolor wonder paper creates the base of the color scheme with its variations of oranges and yellows, so I carried those colors through the other layers. These bright shades really pop with the layers of white in between! I randomly stamped some of the images from Bright Blossoms to create a background that reminds me of fireworks. A few dots were punched with the owl punch to add a little depth, and both the sentiment and designer frame were popped up with dimensionals. The vase was stamped with Versamark on Calypso Coral cardstock, then heat embossed with white embossing powder and snipped out.

Please leave a comment and  let me know what you will miss the most from the current catalog, or what you are creating today. I'd love to hear from you!

To Have and To Hold

With wedding season upon us, here's an idea for a pretty card to celebrate the special occasion. Crisp Cantaloupe and Calypso Coral are so sweet together and the Petite Petals stamps and punch create a perfect floral frame for this wedding couple. The color scheme can easily be changed to fit your favorite paper or the couple's wedding theme.

Sadly, the Best of Brides and Babies stamp set from Stampin' Up!'s Best of 25 Collection, is no longer available. The good news is that you can substitute any wedding stamp you like and just adjust the size of the oval opening with the oval framelits to fit your image. Then create a little banner with your favorite wedding sentiment, add a candy dot, and you'll have a one-of-a-kind card for the newlyweds!
