May will be here soon, the temperatures are climbing, and flowers are bloomin'! So it's Mother's Day in my craft room. This Stampin' Up! Painted Blooms paper (sadly retired) is one of my favorites for Mother's Day cards. Good thing I still have some in my paper stash!
Stampin' Up! Products to make this card:
Strawberry Slush Cardstock (retired); recommend Rose Red
Spring is one of my favorite times of the year. When I go out in the yard and see the hyacinths, tulips and daffodils blooming, I'm in my happy place! So naturally, my spring card creations often feature flowers and butterflies. They're a great combination for celebrating both spring and mothers!
To create this card:
Card base 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" in Daffodil Delight - a nice bright happy yellow!
Designer Series Paper 5-1/4" x 4". This sample paper is from Park Lane (Stampin' Up! 2014-15 catalog).
Did you know that a Paper Pumpkin kit always contains an exclusive stamp set? It gives you lots of extra creative possibilities with stamps that aren't in the catalog!
How do you get Paper Pumpkin? You can purchase 1, 3, 6, or 12 month prepaid subscriptions from the catalog, or you can subscribe month-to-month at http://bit.ly/201qcbG. There is built-in flexibility to manage your subscription so that you'll only receive kits in months where you'll have time to create. So join the fun!
Graduation is a great time of year, and cause for much celebration! I had a few pieces of the March 2016 Paper Pumpkin - Pocketful of Cheer left over, so I used them for one more graduation card. This one is most appropriate for someone who is beginning a career.
To create this card:
Card base - Coastal Cabana cardstock 8-1/2" x 5-1/2"
March Paper Pumpkin - Pocketful of Cheer for the graduation cap, green pearls, Bermuda Bay ink, striped cardstock and white square and Hooray Grad! stamp.
Coastal Cabana ink
Metallic Silver Baker's twine for the balloon string.
Whisper White cardstock, Balloon Bouquet punch, Bermuda Bay Candy Dot, and Silver Metallic Foil (It looks like black ink for the bow, but it's not, trust me :) ) for the balloon.
Basic Black ink for the graduation caps and Real World part of the sentiment
Handpicked Framelits or scissors to cut out the bow.
Welcome Words stamp set.
Make your card, then go celebrate graduation! Yay!
When you looked out the window this morning, what did you see? Here in Wisconsin, I saw snow! I'm ready to see green grass and flowers blooming everywhere. So I created this little spring scene in my stamp room.
Once the scene was complete, I needed a little sentiment, so I chose 'it's a good day' from the Stampin' Up! Happy Home set.
What do you think? Is it a good day? Every morning that I wake up and can get out of bed is a pretty good day!
I love my Stampin' Up! Paper Pumpkin kits, but I rarely make all the projects exactly alike. It is so easy to make the pieces provided in the kit uniquely yours by adding a few small touches. The March kit had 4 small gift cards and 4 large gift cards.
I made three of the small gift cards and one of the large gift cards following the instructions included in the kit.
Check out this quick Stampin' Up! video to see how to create these gift card projects.
Since I didn't need all of these gift cards right now, I turned a couple of them into cards for other occasions.
First up is a baby card using the baby from the retired Stampin' Up! All in the Family set, stamped in Soft Suede.
Stamp the baby on one of the self-adhesive circles. Cut one of the small gift cards in half. Adhere the half circle to the plain white half of the gift card. Stamp the greeting. Add the gift card envelope piece.
Use the other half of the small gift card for this graduation card. Add some Cucumber Crush balloons and Basic Black caps, and stamp the sentiment on top with the Stampin' Up! Bravo stamp set.
Add a tea lace doily and cut one adhesive circle in half to create a different version of the birthday card. The "birthday" greeting is from Celebrate Today.
See how easy it is to use a doily, a different ink pad, or another stamp you already own to turn a Paper Pumpkin kit into your own project!

Spring is a season of new beginnings, and for many that may include beginning life as a couple. Today's card expresses a wish for that life to include two essential ingredients: love and laughter.
Die cut Brushed Gold cardstock (retired) with the Bloomin' Heart Thinlits flowers and adhere the flowers to the silver foil with mini glue dots.
For the banner - stamp the sentiment in Versamark on Whisper White cardstock and heat emboss it with gold embossing powder. This sample shows a sentiment from the retired Stampin' Up! Love & Laughter stamp set. Cut into a banner. Adhere it to the heart with mini glue dots.
Add Cherry Cobbler or other color candy dots to the flowers and you have an elegant wedding card for the happy couple.
